Transform 285/400: Traffic Impact Report

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for activities to include roadway, noise barrier, and bridge construction. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas.

WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-285 and SR 400 from August 23 through August 29, 2022

Continuous Weekend Closures: (Friday, Aug. 26, 9 p.m. to Monday, Aug. 29, 5 a.m.)

General Lane Closures & Traffic Pacings:

  • One right lane on I-285 eastbound from Ashford Dunwoody Road to Chamblee Dunwoody Road

Closures and Detours:

Ashford Dunwoody Road to I-285 eastbound (Detour Map)

  • Motorists traveling on Ashford Dunwoody Road to I-285 eastbound should use Perimeter Summit Parkway (road changes to Lake Hearn Drive) and Peachtree Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound.

Mount Vernon Highway Full Closure (Detour Map)

  • Motorists traveling on Mount Vernon Highway should turn left onto Barfield Drive. Motorists should continue on Barfield Drive (road changes to Mercedes-Benz Drive) and turn right onto Abernathy Road. Motorists should continue on Abernathy Road to access Mount Vernon Highway.
  • Motorists traveling westbound on Mount Vernon Highway should turn right onto Peachtree Dunwoody Road. Motorists should continue on Peachtree Dunwoody Road and turn left onto Abernathy Road. Motorists should continue on Abernathy Road and turn left onto Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Drive). Motorists should continue on Barfield Drive to access Mount Vernon Highway.
