[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) contractors will shift State Route (SR) 400 southbound traffic back to mainline interstate lanes beginning just north of Abernathy Road to south of Hammond Drive utilizing the brand-new Abernathy Road bridge. Motorists currently use the connecting lane system in this area. Once the pattern shift occurs, the connecting lanes will continue to service entering and exiting movements in a near-final configuration.
SR 400 south drivers will exit earlier before Abernathy Road if taking Interstate 285 east or west. Abernathy Road drivers can choose to enter I-285 or GA 400 as well with this shift.
Motorists traveling from Abernathy Road to SR 400 southbound will utilize the left lane at the two-lane split. Motorists traveling from Abernathy Road to I-285 eastbound or westbound will utilize the right lane at the two-lane split.
Contractors and Georgia DOT will ensure all striping and advanced warning signs are placed prior to the significant SR 400 southbound shift. Navigation apps may take a few days to update in this area.
WHEN: Starting Sunday, Jan. 22 at 5 a.m. (This shift may be postponed to Jan. 29 due to weather) [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_empty_space height=”25px”][vc_single_image image=”9259″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Click here for more information.
