Transform 285/400: Traffic Impact Report

An exciting and major milestone is underway for the 285/400 project! As the pattern change finishes taking shape over the next few days, the Abernathy Diverging Diamond will be a much smoother interchange than ever before once completed on Monday, April 17.

Here are a few more details about what to expect this weekend:

Thursday, April 13 through Monday, April 17, while the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) is being implemented, travelers will have continuous access from:

  • Abernathy Road eastbound to SR 400 southbound
  • SR 400 northbound to Abernathy Road eastbound
  • Abernathy Road westbound to SR 400 northbound
  • SR 400 southbound to Abernathy Road westbound

There will be no left turns or through traffic allowed. Advanced signage will help drivers navigate the DDI roadway and ramp configurations. Traffic pacing at the SR 400 ramps is needed during the multi-day implementation plan for nighttime and weekend work, allowing for striping and other construction activities.

Drivers should pay close attention to the new roadway configuration. Click here to view how the new Abernathy DDI will flow.

Closures and Detours:
