Transform 285 / 400 Project 285 Lane Reductions
Late summer 2022 – TBD
The I-285 Lane Reductions will not continue as planned for this year and are now scheduled to begin in Late summer 2022. In the meantime, crews will complete work activities throughout the project corridor to provide as much relief as possible before the most painful part of the project.
Transform 285 / 400 Project
2018 – Summer 2023
Lane closures will take place on I-285 and SR 400. Anticipate possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas. Daytime traffic pacing may take place occasionally on I-285 eastbound from Roswell Road to Perimeter Center Parkway, I-285 westbound from Chamblee Dunwoody Road to Perimeter Center Parkway, and Perimeter Center Parkway from Lake Hearn Drive to Hammond Drive.
GDOT maintains a project website here.
Abernathy Road Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI)

GA-400 Express Lanes
Path 400 Extension South from Glenridge to Buckhead
TBD – Project in design phase.
The project will provide a bike/pedestrian route that runs more than 5 miles and serves as a greenway that connects Buckhead to Perimeter. Path 400 will eventually join the Atlanta Beltline, providing a key link to the regional trail network.
I-285 Top End Express Lanes
2025-2035
TBD – Project in conception phase.
The project will add two new at-grade, elevated, and barrier-separated express lanes in both directions on I-285 between I-20 on the western side and I-20 on the eastern side. The project is planned as segments, with a segment from Raider Drive west to Atlanta Road, another from North Shallowford east to I-20, and a central segment spanning Raider to North Shallowford and north along GA-400 to North Springs Station. The entire corridor will be barrier-separated express lanes (like those on I-75), and is planned to be delivered in a staggered process over the next 10-15 years. Additional information is available here.
SR400 Northbound Shared-Use Path
None
