Ever wonder how much you could save if you ditched your car and rode MARTA to and from work? A new study from the American Public Transportation Association,

an organization that advocates public transit, claims commuter taking public transit in Atlanta saves $896 a month, or $10,753 a year.
APTA calculated the average cost of taking public transit by determining the cost of the average monthly transit pass of local public transit agencies across the country. It then compared the average monthly transit fare to the average cost of driving. The cost of driving is calculated using the 2014 AAA average cost of driving formula, which includes the cost for fuel, insurance, license registration, depreciation and finance charges.
