What is Perimeter Rapid Ride?

Rapid Ride is a specialized “vanpool” program from Perimeter Connects that aims to make getting to Perimeter easier, more affordable, and stress-free.

How does it work?

  • With Rapid Ride, you'll pay around $75* per month for one of 5-8 seats in a comfortable van or SUV.
  • You'll be picked up near your home and dropped off at your workplace in Perimeter.
  • Rapid Ride gets free access to Express Lanes, and the cost includes maintenance and insurance.

How Do I Get a Seat?

  1. Request a Ride – Rapid Ride routes will be started where we have enough interested people who live near each other. If you want a route, request one.

  2. Volunteer to Drive – Each vanpool needs a primary driver (and backup drivers).

  3. Get Connected – Perimeter Connects will review requests and connect local groups to start up new routes. We’ll be there to help you get started and get extra perks!

  4. Get the Van – Perimeter Connects and our partners supply the van, covering maintenance, insurance, and emergency roadside assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Perimeter Rapid Ride is a flat rate of $75/person per month! This includes everything needed for your ride, such as insurance, gas, and express lane access. 

Bonus: By logging trips in the Georgia Commute Options app, you can also earn prizes, gift cards, and perks to support your commute. This is a great way to make commuting even more affordable!  

Yes! We can start routes that support commuters with a variety of schedules. Tell us the days you want to ride, and the details of your commute, and we’ll get in touch to help get you on the road. 

Your crew will decide where to meet each day. If you’re joining an existing route with an established meet-up spot, we’ll let you know all the details when you complete enrollment. 

We recommend choosing a central location in a safe, well-lit area near public transportation. 

No long-term commitment is required. Each vehicle is rented on a month-to-month basis, and your participation can be canceled with 30 days’ notice.

Riders can cancel their participation with 30 days’ notice. 

Vanpool members volunteer to share driving responsibility and can change their preferences anytime. The safety of our riders is a top priority. To qualify for driving responsibility, all volunteers must apply for approval before they are eligible to drive. 

Authorized drivers can use our vehicles for limited and local utility mileage. Up to 200 additional miles a month can be added for trips like car washes, grocery stops, and other errands around your normal route. 

These benefits are for authorized drivers only. 

If you need an emergency ride outside of your regular vanpool route hours, we’ll help you coordinate alternative transportation. This service is also provided through the Georgia Commute Options app!  

Accidents happen. Each vanpool includes vehicle liability insurance & physical damage protection + 24/7 roadside assistance, so you ride or drive with peace of mind. 

Your safety and well-being are our top priority. Please dial 911 immediately if you or anyone else is injured. 

If you are not injured, please move to a safe place and notify us of the accident.  

Roadside assistance will provide a ride to your destination. Contact our team to schedule a replacement vehicle to get you back on the road. 

We’re flexible! There are a few ways we can accommodate changes in your commute. If there are several routes in your area, it can be easy to change things up. Contact our team for help finding an alternate ride.  

Or, if Rapid Ride isn’t the best solution for you anymore, let us know. We can cancel your commitment with 30 days’ notice.
