Transform 285/400: Traffic Impact Report

WHAT: Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for activities to include roadway, noise barrier, and bridge construction. Travel restrictions include possible delays, reduced speeds, and detours in some areas. *NOTES: Work schedule updates can be made daily. Check project web page often for the latest updates. Detour information is shown using red text. Closures marked with **/++ – only one of these closures will be implemented WHEN/WHERE: Traffic Impacts on I-285 and SR 400 from July 3, through July 10, 2023 Continuous Weekend Closures: (Friday, July 7, 9 p.m. to Monday, July 10, 5 a.m.) General Lane Closures & Traffic Pacings:
  • One left lane on SR 400 northbound at Spalding Drive
Closures and Detours: I-285 westbound to Roswell Road (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on I-285 westbound to Roswell Road should use Exit 24 Riverside Drive and I-285 eastbound to access Exit 25 Roswell Road.
Lake Forrest Drive at I-285 Full Closure (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on Lake Forrest Drive northbound should use Northwood Drive, Kingsport Drive (road changes to Lake Placid Drive), Roswell Road, Cliftwood Drive, Sandy Springs Circle, and Allen Road to access Lake Forrest Drive northbound.
  • Motorists traveling on Lake Forrest Drive southbound should use Allen Road, Roswell Road and Northwood Drive to access Lake Forrest Drive southbound.

  • One right lane on I-285 eastbound from SR 400 to Peachtree Dunwoody Road
  • Two left lanes on I-285 eastbound CD lanes from Roswell Road to SR 400

  • Motorists traveling on Abernathy Road to SR 400 southbound should use SR 400 northbound and Exit 6 Northridge Drive to access SR 400 southbound.
Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 eastbound (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling on Peachtree Dunwoody Road to I-285 eastbound should use Lake Hearn Drive, Hammond Drive, and Ashford Dunwoody Road to access I-285 eastbound.
Mount Vernon Highway Full Closure (Detour Map)
  • Motorists traveling eastbound on Mount Vernon Highway should use Barfield Drive (road changes to Mercedes-Benz Drive) and Abernathy Road to access Mount Vernon Highway.
  • Motorists traveling westbound on Mount Vernon Highway should use Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Abernathy Road, and Mercedes-Benz Drive (road changes to Barfield Drive) to access Mount Vernon Highway.
